1. Agreement to Terms
By registering for, booking, or participating in any retreat, program, workshop, or stay organized by Mud Story Retreats (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
2. Booking & Payment
A retreat space is confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit or full payment.
A non-refundable deposit may be required to secure your place.
The remaining balance must be paid by the communicated deadline prior to arrival.
Payment methods may include UPI, bank transfer, or other agreed methods.
Failure to complete payment by the deadline may result in forfeiture of your reservation.
3. Cancellation & Refund Policy
If you cancel your participation:
Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing.
Cancellations made 30 days or more before the retreat start date may receive a partial refund (excluding deposit), at our discretion.
Cancellations made within 14 days of the retreat start date are generally non-refundable.
No refunds are provided for late arrivals or early departures.
In some cases, we may offer a credit toward a future retreat at our discretion.
4. Retreat Changes & Minimum Participants
Mud Story Retreats reserves the right to:
Modify retreat schedules, teachers, workshops, or activities as needed.
Cancel or reschedule a retreat if minimum participant numbers are not met.
If we cancel a retreat, you will be offered either:
A full refund of payments made to us, or
A credit toward a future program.
We are not responsible for travel costs or other personal expenses incurred.
5. Participant Responsibility & Health
By participating, you confirm that:
You are physically and mentally fit to participate in yoga, farming activities, excursions, and related experiences.
You have disclosed any relevant injuries, medical conditions, or limitations.
You understand that participation is voluntary and at your own risk.
Mud Story Retreats is not a medical provider. You are responsible for consulting your physician if necessary prior to participation.
6. Assumption of Risk
Retreat activities may include:
Yoga and physical movement practices
Natural farming and outdoor land-based work
Excursions to heritage sites and wildlife areas
Use of shared accommodations and facilities
Use of a chemical-free, regenerative community pool
You acknowledge that participation involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, environmental exposure, wildlife interaction, and travel-related risks.
You voluntarily assume full responsibility for these risks.
7. Liability Waiver
To the fullest extent permitted under Indian law:
Mud Story Retreats, Aarambh Community Farm, Mud Story LLP, its directors, teachers, collaborators, and staff shall not be held liable for:
Personal injury or illness
Loss, theft, or damage to personal property
Travel disruptions or delays
Acts of third-party providers
Participation is undertaken at your own risk.
8. Pool Use
The community pool at Aarambh is a chemical-free, regenerative water system. Water is naturally filtered and regularly returned to the land.
By using the pool, you acknowledge:
It is not chemically treated.
Use is at your own risk.
You are responsible for your own safety while using the pool.
9. Excursions & Third-Party Services
Optional excursions may include visits to:
Heritage Mysuru sites
Sacred temples
Wildlife reserves
Transportation services
These may involve third-party providers. Mud Story Retreats is not responsible for the actions, safety standards, or outcomes related to third-party services.
Participation in excursions is voluntary.
10. Code of Conduct
We are committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment.
Participants agree to:
Treat others, the land, and the facilities with care.
Respect local culture and community norms.
Follow reasonable instructions provided by staff.
We reserve the right to ask a participant to leave if behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or harmful. No refund will be issued in such cases.
11. Media & Photography
During retreats, photographs or videos may be taken for documentation or promotional purposes.
By participating, you consent to the use of images in which you may appear, unless you explicitly notify us in writing before or during the retreat that you do not wish to be photographed.
12. Force Majeure
Mud Story Retreats shall not be held liable for circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:
Natural disasters
Extreme weather
Government restrictions
Political unrest
Public health emergencies
In such cases, refunds or credits will be considered at our discretion.
13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of India.
Any disputes arising shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Karnataka, India.
